In November 2017, work began on the photovoltaic system on existing roofs. The first building to receive the panels is the old people’s home, which is located near the transformer that converts the 11 kV of the high-voltage line into 440 V. The transformer will be installed on the existing roofs. The transformer house is fed into the existing power grid. In a first step, 200 kWp will be installed. The stands for the panels are already assembled.

The manufacturer is a large and renowned Indian company offering a wide range of products from electric cables, light switches and fuse boxes to solar panels. In Kirpal Sagar, a trade fair with a series of lectures on the subject of sustainable agriculture took place in November, one highlight being the presentation by a top-class speaker from Austria who presented sustainable dairy farming.

At home he runs an organic farm with a cheese dairy and has access to a broad network. For years, he has accompanied and supported the farm in Kirpal Sagar in the introduction of organic farming methods and in soil development through composting.
The lecture on organic cultivation of medicinal plants, vegetables and spices by a proven expert from Germany visibly stimulated the audience and in the course of the event encouraged an intensive exchange, a real enrichment for the event. In addition to many valuable, easy-to-understand tips on the basics, the focus was on practical steps such as soil cultivation, water-saving cultivation methods, crop rotation.Kirpal Sagars Agriculture includes dairy farming, horticulture and, to a lesser extent, forestry activities in addition to arable farming. In his opening speech, Chairman Karamjit Singh Virk, himself active in various agricultural aspects, addressed the underlying concept of the development of a sustainable way of doing business. The main purpose of the fair was to provide a forum for exchange, practical, focused on farmers in the region, an exchange forum for knowledge and experience. In November 2017, the functional wing of the hospital was examined more closely. After all, the outer shell is already a good 20 years old. An architect from Germany drew up a current plan of the buildings as a basis for further expansion plans, after a large number of changes had been made since then.

Foundations in the exterior area were partially uncovered in order to check the stability. After all, the monsoon is violent and always leads to flooding. The first step is to repair weather-related damage and improve the building’s resistance to water from above and below.

On November 2nd, a respiratory training for emergency room staff took place at Kirpal Sagar Charitable Hospital. Four nurses practiced ventilation with bag and mask on the simulator of KS-plus. Every doctor and nurse in the emergency room should be able to do this. After all, it can save lives.

The exercise was obviously fun. Afterwards, there were plenty of selfies with the German instructors as a memento.
