Whereas previously a classic film image was developed in the darkroom, in which a lot of chemistry had to be used, a digitisation cassette is now being used. The X-ray image is digitally stored on this cassette and then read out in the device. The X-ray image is then evaluated on the screen, measured if necessary and readjusted in contrast and brightness. A magnifying glass function makes even small details visible. Once the image is ready, it can be sent electronically to the diagnostician or surgeon. It is not unimportant that the existing X-ray unit continues to be used. This includes an electronic archive that offers access to previous images. In summary: a milestone that helps staff at Kirpal Sagar Hospital to avoid unnecessary multiple images.
