In concrete terms, the hospital’s list of patients in need who are exempt from costs currently includes slightly more than 1,000 people. They receive an identity card similar to the German fee exemption card of the statutory health insurance funds. About 10,000 patients per year benefit from free basic examinations. In the schools about 300 pupils receive a complete or partial exemption from the fees. Both with the charitable support of needy ones in the hospital and in the schools Kirpal Sagar is supported also by several associations and private people from abroad. Good contacts to the surrounding communities facilitate the means test considerably. The goal is that the donations reach the needy directly, the administrative effort remains within narrow limits with a high accuracy… were there not other periods of reporting in English-speaking countries?
